Generations in Harmony
Who We Are
Generations in Harmony is an intergenerational choir bringing together high school students and older adults through music. Our growing community includes 12 student members spanning from grades 6-12 from 5 local and international schools across Korea, alongside more than 40 older adult members who join us in singing, connecting, and sharing music across generations. We believe that meaningful music does not require perfect voices.
Our choir welcomes singers of different ages, backgrounds, and levels of musical experience. There are no auditions -- our only musical requirement is the ability to match pitch and a willingness to sing together.
Generations in Harmony was founded in October 2024 with a simple idea: to bring high school students and older adults together through music. Based in Seocho-gu and welcoming seniors experiencing memory loss, our intergenerational choir creates a space where people of different ages can connect, build relationships, and find joy in singing together.
Each season, we share that joy beyond our rehearsals through performances for the wider community, including healthcare workers and caregivers. Our concerts are typically held on Fridays and Saturdays in mid-January and mid-June.
You’ll hear great singing, plenty of laughter, and voices from different generations coming together. We may not always sing in perfect harmony, but we always create it together.

We believe a choir is not defined by perfect harmony, but by the people willing to create it together.
Lim Lee, Founder
Lim Lee is the founder of Generations in Harmony, an intergenerational choir he established in 2024 to bring high school students and older adults together through music.
The idea for Generations in Harmony began close to home. Lim's grandfather lived with Alzheimer's disease and spent his final years at the same nursing home where the choir would later begin. After his grandfather passed away, Lim returned to a place he had once known through visits with his family -- this time with fellow student singers and a different purpose.
In October 2024, he founded Generations in Harmony there, hoping to use music to create moments of connection between young people and older adults, including those experiencing memory loss.
A bass singer, actor, and student leader, Lim has performed in choral and theatrical productions throughout Korea and abroad. As a vocalist, Lim serves as Bass Section Leader of the KIS Chamber Singers.
